So, I am going to give you some tips that might help you to juggle things better.
You might even get to drink your cup of coffee while it’s still warm(-ish)!

Let’s be honest, we all thrive on routine.
Discussing and setting a routine with your family is a great way to get everyone on board and to know what to expect.
Here are a few ideas of what to include:

  • Time to get up and get dressed.

  • Meal-times and snack times.

  • Decide where everyone can do their work. If both you and your partner and working from home, you could take turns having a dedicated workspace away from the kids to try and avoid burnout.

  • Decide on the best timings for learning, activities and exercise. Younger children may need shorter time periods for learning than older children. Quiet activities such as jigsaws, arts and crafts, playing in the garden, reading or listening to audiobooks might help to fill up some time.

  • Add in some time for house chores and divvy up the jobs. Not only should this take the pressure off you, but it will also teach your children responsibility and accountability to clean up after themselves.

  • Leave time for family time in the evenings. This could include going for a walk or exercising, playing or reading.

  • Aim to stick to normal bedtimes as much as possible during the week to make sure everyone gets enough sleep.

Write down your plan for the week ahead and stick it up on the fridge so everyone can see it.
Make it flexible and adjust the plan week on week, knowing what worked well and what didn’t.
